Culver On Meeting LeBron: "I Was Star-Shook"
Jarrett Culver recently worked out for the Lakers; afterward, he got some advice from LeBron James
From leading Texas Tech to the Final Four to preparing for the NBA Draft, it’s been a whirlwind couple of months for Jarrett Culver.
But there’s nothing quite like meeting LeBron James – which Culver did during a recent workout with the Lakers.
“When I first walked in, I saw him,” Culver told Bill Reiter. “I was kind of star-shook, but then I started working out, shooting, and I kind of just focused on my workout. I did get to talk to LeBron after. He’s an icon for basketball. Everybody knows what he does for the game. Just being able to meet him has been great.”
James gave the 20-year-old some advice about succeeding in the NBA.
“His message was just stay true to yourself and keep working hard,” Culver said. “He knows I can work hard, so that’s what he told me.”
