Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme, who starred in the Super Troopers series, dropped by CBS Sports Radio’s Ferrall on the Bench on Tuesday to discuss their new show, Tacoma FD, on TruTV. The show is essentially Super Troopers in a fire station, as it offers a comedic look at firefighters batting boredom.

Kevin plays Chief Terry McConkey, while Steve plays his brother-in-law, Captain Eddie Penisi. Together, they run the fire department – even if they don’t always get along.

“We got a lot of juice,” Lemme said, chuckling. “We’re brothers-in-law, and we’re having fun jawing at each other a lot. I don’t respect his authority, and he respects that I don’t respect his authority. He gets it.”

The show will premier on TruTV on March 28, which is perfect for this time of year.

“We ended up pitching a bunch of people, and they were the guys who said, ‘We’ll put you on the air, and we’ll launch you right after March Madness,’” Heffernan said. “It’s the only time of the year that people watch TruTv, so we said. ‘Yeah, let’s join.’”
