Last week, Terry Crews announced that a White Chicks sequel was in the works. There’s just one problem: It’s not.

At least not yet.

“Let me clear this up right now,” Shawn Wayans said on The DA Show. “Terry Crews, I love you buddy, but man. I seen Terry Crews at Barneys in L.A. and he was like, ‘Man, what’s going on with White Chicks?’ I said, ‘We’re working on it, we’re trying to put something together – hopefully we’ll get that going.’”

It appears Crews, who starred in the 2004 cult classic with Wayans, got excited.  A little too excited.

“He’s so buff that he took and changed the words around to, ‘Yo, they getting it together and they getting it going and we shooting,’” Wayans said. “What? No, we’re not. No, we’re talking about it. We’re trying to put something together. It’s not happening yet. When it happens, I will tell you personally.”

Unless or until it’s official, however, Wayans doesn’t want to say it’s happening. He doesn’t want to disappoint fans.

“Fans of White Chicks, I love you,” he said. “You’ve been rocking with us. We want to make this happen for all of us because we had so much fun in the first one, and we have a really funny one up in our heads that we’ve been talking about. When it’s ready, when the OK is okayed, we’re going to tell you. Until then, don’t speculate that it’s happening. Don’t say that’s it’s happening because we’re not trying to disappoint you guys, OK? I feel bad because I keep hearing, ‘It’s happening!’ It’s like, no, time-out, it ain’t happening. It ain’t happening yet, OK guys?”
