According to Yahoo Sports, the relationship between Chris Paul and James Harden is “unsalvageable,” and they no longer wish to play with one another.

Houston 610 morning show host Mike Meltser, however, isn’t buying it.

“I’m sure that these guys have their differences, but the stuff that was in the Yahoo Sports story that everybody is talking about, I just think was overblown,” Meltser said on After Hours with Amy Lawrence. “Based on a lot of things that have come out since then, based on the people that I know, the people that I talk to – the idea that James Harden and Chris Paul spent two months during the season not talking whatsoever just seems like it’s not true, unless the writer wrote it in some sort of non-literal way.”

According to the report, Paul and Harden didn’t speak to each other, intentionally got under each other’s skin at practice and in games, and created a tenuous environment for teammates and the franchise in general.

Not exactly the behavior you would expect from two of the most respected veterans in the league.

“There are all these reports after that story came out about these guys playing cards on the plane,” Meltser said. “I know people who are close to the organization that talk about how these guys do talk during the season. So I’m sure that there might be differences between James and Chris, but not to the extent that it was portrayed in Yahoo Sports on Tuesday.”
