Raiders general manager Mike Mayock sent a message to Antonio Brown on Sunday, saying that the diva wide receiver needs to be “all-in or all-out” after an exhausting summer of drama and distractions. That’s all well and good, but that message didn’t need to come from Mayock; it needed to come from coach Jon Gruden.

“Gruden, he’s a real tough guy on 'Hard Knocks,' dropping F-bombs and cursing,” Brandon Tierney said on Tiki & Tierney. “Get out there and grab control of your team. You don’t do that by allowing a 31-year-old child to hold you hostage all summer. It’s really pathetic. It’s absolutely pathetic that Jon Gruden continues to kiss his ass. Are you kidding me? Antonio Brown? This is a joke.”

Gruden, who went 4-12 in his first season with Oakland, is tasked with making the Raiders not only relevant, but dominant. Brown, Tierney says, may be a “slayer on Sundays,” but “he’s a clown every other day.”

“They are allowing this player who is aging to walk into camp and set a tone for a franchise that is lost – lost,” Tierney said. “The gentleman that’s allowing that to happen is the one person who cannot. It’s Jon Gruden. The Raiders aren’t going to be good this year, and they’re never going to be good if Jon Gruden doesn’t wake up.”
