It remains to be seen where Tom Brady will play in 2020, but Phil Simms doesn’t believe there will be much suspense. In fact, he doesn’t think Brady is going anywhere.

“Tom Brady, he’s going to play in New England next year,” Simms said on The Zach Gelb Show. “I will be surprised, I’ll be shocked – maybe even greater – if Tom Brady is not in New England. The one thing that really seals it for me is just this simple: Josh McDaniels did not get a chance to get interviewed for jobs. The jobs filled up before he really got that chance. The fact that he’s in New England, I think, makes it really attractive and is the best situation for Tom Brady to play in.”

The Patriots started 8-0 this past season but went 4-4 in their final eight games before falling to Tennessee, 20-13, in the AFC Wild Card.

Still, Brady completed over 60 percent of his passes and threw for over 4,000 yards – not to mention 24 touchdowns to just eight interceptions. The Patriots have also reached the Super Bowl in four of the last six seasons.

“I hope he does stay in New England,” Simms said. “I think that’s his best chance to win another Super Bowl. Everybody is talking about, ‘New England is on the downside.’ Look, there’s not a lot to fix up there. They have a lot of good players, they had a good season – it just didn’t fall into place for them this year. That’s really about all you can say. But I think he’ll be in New England for sure.”
