Last year, the Green Bay Packers won six games en route to a 6-9-1 finish. This year, they’ve won six games, too. The difference, of course, is that they’re not even halfway through the season. Indeed, the Packers (6-1) have won three straight and are atop the NFC North.

What’s been the biggest difference between the Mike McCarthy Packers and the Matt LaFleur Packers?

“I just think the team is a lot closer,” Packers defensive lineman Kenny Clark said on Reiter Than You. “We’re just having a lot of fun. We have a really young team, and Coach LaFleur is really young, too, so I think he just relates to us and relates to the whole team. He brings a lot of energy into the building. Even all the assistant coaches, they all bring a lot of energy. That’s really what you see with us. We’re always going to be up with energy, happy to be there, happy to walk through those doors every day and go to work with your teammates. That’s the best part about it is just being able to do that. I think Coach LaFleur and all the rest of the guys, they just make that environment healthy like that.”

MVP-level play from Aaron Rodgers helps as well. Over his last two games, Rodgers has thrown for 712 yards and accounted for eight touchdowns (seven pass, one rush) to just one interception.

The Packers play the Chiefs (5-2) on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff from Kansas City is slated for 8:20 p.m. ET.
