Zion Williamson has turned the college basketball world upside down with his NBA body and freakish athleticism. The Duke freshman is averaging 22.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.0 blocks for the No. 2 Blue Devils (22-2), who have been almost unbeatable this season.

Williamson, 18, could be the top pick in the NBA Draft, but how will his game translate to the pros?

“It’s going to be interesting because Zion is my size,” 12-year NBA veteran Tracy Murray said on Taz & The Moose. “He’s 6-7. He’s really a small forward or Klay Thompson’s height. He’s a small forward/2-guard’s height but with Charles Barkley’s build and incredible athleticism. The best comparison I can make with him is a more athletic Julius Randle. Left-handed, strong body, can handle the ball, pounds you and bangs you and gets buckets toward the rim. But the difference between him and Julius Randle – he would go through you and dunk on you. He’s explosive.”

Randle, the seventh overall pick in 2014, is averaging 19.9 points and 9.1 rebounds for the Pelicans (25-33). If Williamson can do that in the NBA, many would consider it a success.

“Both of them need work on their jump-shot,” Murray said. “So that’s what you’re looking at. If (Williamson is) a worker and if you think he can improve his jump shot, then I would say go for it and work with him. But if he’s one of those guys that stays on his cell phone in the locker room and you have to drag him out of the locker room, then that’s going to be a problem.”
