Barring a total shocker, Joe Burrow will be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, most likely for the Cincinnati Bengals.

LSU defensive tackle prospect Rashard Lawrence believes that would be a wise investment for Cincinnati.

“I think that Joe is going to continue his success,” Lawrence said on The DA Show. “I think people see the videos of Joe and the cockiness and how he talks, but man, that guy works his ass off. He works hard, he’s very well-coached and he loves to get better. I think his toughness is going to really wow [people]. I think he’s going to Cincinnati, so when he gets to the Bengals, I think they’re going to love his toughness, the way he carries himself and just the pure, hard work he brings every day. So I think that he’ll be fine in the NFL. If he gets surrounded in the right offense, he’s going to try to get another championship up there eventually.”

Burrow had the greatest statistical season in college football history in 2019. He threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns to lead LSU to its first national title since 2007.

While the fond memories are many, beating Alabama 46-41 in Tuscaloosa let everyone know the Tigers were for real.

“It was a great day for us,” Lawrence said. “You got to give Joe Burrow credit. To go into Bryant-Denny Stadium and get the job done the way he did and the defense making the stops when we needed to, complete team effort, man. Coach O [Orgeron] has always said if you want to win the SEC Championship, you got to go through the champions and Alabama has been that the last few years in the SEC West. So we had to go through them. We knew what we had to do. We got the job done and ultimately kept it rolling throughout the season.”
