It remains to be seen whether the NBA will cancel the 2019-20 season, but it is clear that Adam Silver’s No. 1 concern is the health and safety of players and team personnel.
“I just appreciate the NBA for just taking a stand and worrying about our safety and us being humans first,” Lakers point guard Quinn Cook said on The DA Show. “Obviously we want to be out there on the court playing with our teammates, playing against the best players in the world, and for the best fans in the world. But at the same time, our safety is the most important thing. We’re all just trying to take every precaution possible.”
When the NBA suspended its season, the Lakers (49-14) had the best record in the Western Conference. In fact, they had a 5.5-game lead on the Clippers (44-20) for the top spot in the West. Needless to say, they are eager to resume the season.
“Once we get back rolling, we still got to have that common goal in mind,” said Cook, who frequently communicates with teammates in a group chat. “When everything resumes, we got to come back together and finish what we started.”
Cook, who of course plays with LeBron James, was asked if Jordan is the GOAT.
“Yeah, yeah, for sure,” Cook said. “Mike’s the GOAT. We have GOATs of our generation. I think Mike’s the greatest of all time, especially in the ’80s and ’90s. Then Kobe had his time; Shaq had his time. LeBron . . . has been he most dominant [player] for 17 straight years. The GOAT is a generational question to me.”
