It remains to be seen whether Tom Brady will play for the New England Patriots in 2020, but he did just put his Boston home up for sale. Is it possible that the 42-year-old plays elsewhere next season?

In a word, yes.

“He signed a contract that voids. It’s up at the end of the year,” CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora said on Tiki & Tierney. “We’ve been wondering about him and Belichick and some of these guys for years. At some point, McDaniels is going to go, too. Matt Patricia is already gone. Could it be time for others to move on? I don’t think Tom Brady can answer the question right now.

“But could there be a scenario where he plays somewhere other than New England?” La Canfora continued. “Yeah, sure. Do I think it’s likely or do I think he’s leaning in any sort of direction? No. I think he’s a stone-cold assassin who’s fixated on getting No. 7.”

The Patriots (7-0) are once again the best team in football. They are allowing an NFL-best 6.9 points per game and have held the opposition without a touchdown in three of their seven games.

If Brady wins a seventh Super Bowl, it’s conceivable he could move on.

“We’ll see where he is, where the family is,” La Canfora said. “But does he have the flexibility to call his shot? Absolutely.”

The Patriots host the Browns (2-4) this Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
