No. 7 Michigan (10-2) will face No. 10 Florida (9-3) in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 29 at 12 p.m. ET.

“Two great college football brands,” Chick-Fil-A-Bowl President Gary Stokan said on Taz & The Moose. “Michigan is the winningest team in the country. Obviously No. 1 defense in the country. Dan Mullens has done a heck of a job at Florida in his first year.”

Indeed, Mullens inherited a 4-7 team and led the Gators to victory in eight of their last 10 games. Jim Harbaugh, meanwhile, led Michigan to 10 straight wins before losing The Game to Ohio State in Columbus.

“Both teams are playing for something,” Stokan said. “Florida can be only the 15th team to win 10 games in the history of their brand, and Michigan – this could be only the 10th team to win 11 games. So pretty respectable there. I think both coaches do a great job. We’re looking forward to a sell-out. It’s going to be a great matchup. Whenever you get a Big Ten/SEC matchup – we haven’t had that in 28 years.”

Indeed, Indiana/Auburn was the last Big Ten/SEC Peach Bowl matchup. Auburn won, 27-23.

“We’ve typically been ACC/SEC,” Stokan said. “This will lead into next year.”

The Peach Bowl will host a semifinal next season and is no stranger to big games.

“We had Washington, No. 6, and Auburn, No. 9, in our Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game, we just had the SEC Championship with No. 1 against No. 4, and now we got No. 7 against No 10,” Stokan said. “Great place for college football in Atlanta. We like to think we’re the capital of college football.”
