The NFL could reportedly place Tyreek Hill on the commissioner’s exempt list in the coming days, this after audio was leaked involving a conversation between Hill and his fiancee, Crystal Espinal, discussing the alleged abuse of their 3-year-old son.

“I think it’s a foregone conclusion that the NFL is going to have to weigh in here pretty shortly,” NFL on CBS insider Jason La Canfora said on Ferrall on the Bench, “whether they put him on the exempt list or they come up with some other roster designation for him – or just plain suspend him, which isn’t likely given the way they usually operate. But they have to say something about this – more than just, ‘We’re looking into this situation.’ I know audio doesn’t quite meet the threshold of video, but we’re in that realm.”

While Hill denied breaking his son’s arm, he did not deny other abuse accusations contained in the audio. He also threatened Espinal, telling her that she should be “terrified” of him.

“When the authorities have come in, taken a child out of the home and said the dad has no rights to see this 3-year-old with a broken arm – even with law enforcement in the room with him, he still cannot see his child – I would think that alone would be enough to render him no longer a Kansas City Chief and for the league to make some statement about him,” La Canfora said. “Bad timing – draft got in the way, I guess – but they’ll do something this week.”

La Canfora also weighed in on the Giants, Patriots, Steelers, and Raiders, among other topics. Click below to listen to his interview in its entirety.
