In Week 9, the Los Angeles Rams, then a perfect 8-0, traveled to New Orleans to play the Saints – and lost 45-35. The Rams travel to New Orleans again this week, only this time there’s a Super Bowl berth on the line.

How can the Rams have more success this time around?

“The biggest thing that we can do is continue to be who we are: a power-running football team,” Rams great Isaac Bruce said on Reiter Than You. “I think we have a one-two punch now that’s to be reckoned with with Gurley and C.J. Anderson.”

That duo rushed 39 times for 238 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-22 win over the Cowboys this past Saturday.

“We play everything off of that, from the play-action pass to put it down the field to jet sweeps that we run,” Bruce said. “If we go in with that mindset and do that and we give our defense a chance to rest and really attack Drew Brees, I think we could pull it off. It’s hard to beat an NFL team twice in one year. It’s tough to do that. It’ll be a great challenge, but I have faith in my team, and I think they’ll win it.”

In the AFC, meanwhile, Tom Brady is playing in his 13th AFC Championship.

“He’s a guy that’s truly gained my respect,” Bruce said. “That’s one of our main goals as football players. We don’t want you to fear us, but that respect level, that is what we’re asking. I think he’s proven himself to be one of the top talents to ever play quarterback in our league. I don’t really see a flaw. If there’s a knock on Tom, you have to dig real deep to find it. Tom never beat anybody out for the job. He’s been there ever since Bledsoe went down, and he hasn’t given it up.”
