When projecting where LeBron James will play next season, many fans and and analysts point to the Lakers, Rockets, Celtics and 76ers. Bleacher Report NBA reporter Tom Haberstroh, however, believes a dark horse could emerge.

That dark horse is Miami.

“If I’m Vegas and I’m making a bet, it’s Miami,” Haberstroh said on Reiter Than You. “The last couple days, Carmelo Anthony has made these cryptic tweets about understand the past but look toward the future. What if the Miami Heat trade for Carmelo Anthony, and LeBron, Dwyane and Carmelo Anthony basically make up the banana boat squad in Miami? I could totally see that scenario playing out.”

James, Anthony, and Wade went first, third, and fifth, respectively in the 2003 NBA Draft and remain close friends. James and Wade, of course, were teammates in Miami and led the Heat to four consecutive NBA Finals and two championships.

“We know that LeBron loves it in Miami,” Haberstroh said. “We know that he enjoyed his time there and has a lot of ties the city there. So I find that situation not the most likely one, but if I am a betting man and I was looking at the odds of where Miami stands in the LeBron sweepstakes, I think they should be a lot more likely than where they stand.”
