DeMarcus Ware knows a thing or two about playing for the Dallas Cowboys and waiting to get paid. The former Cowboys defensive end joined Taz and the Moose on CBS Sports Radio on Wednesday morning to talk about Ezekiel Elliott finally agreeing to a new deal.

The Cowboys star running back agreed to a six-year, $90 million deal and will be ready to go for their Week 1 matchup in Dallas against the Giants.

"I think that's awesome for Zeke, especially just the whole organization they have there," Ware said. "A guy that is going to move the chains, help out Dak and do what they need to do to win football games. They have a great defense, a really really young defense, but they are flying around. They got all their pieces they need on offense. Now them signing their cornerstone of their team, really the face of their team, that's what they needed. You got to have that guy, no matter what, you give him the football, it's going to be some type of results. That's what they got now."

The question will be is Elliott ready and how will he look after missing all of training camp and joining the team days before the season starts.

"Does he really know the offense? Because you got Kellen. You got Kittna and Jason Garrett taking a little back seat," Ware said. "Are the plays going to be a little bit different? If they are the same, I'm that guy sitting in there being the defensive captain and I see the offensive guy come in there like Zeke, I'm like I'm so glad he's back. Because now I don't have to be on the field. I can actually rush the passer. What I'm going to be looking for in practice is when he gets the football, what kind of burst he has. I'm not worried about if he's going to get hit or not. He knows that, that's easy. How long can he sustain it? I'm going to be watching in practice and see how tired he gets. And if he doesn't get tired, I'm like ok he's going to do what he needs to do. I'm not really worried about he's been off since training camp because I know he's going to come in real fresh, fresh legs. He's going to go out there and crush it."

We'll find out Sunday if Zeke is ready to roll.
