The general consensus is that weather will play a key role in the AFC Championship on Sunday, but it might not play as big of a role as many think – at least not for the Chiefs.

Why? Two words. Patrick Mahomes.

“Tom Brady has (played) many, many times (in the cold). He has obviously the right mental framework, and that’s really what it comes down to,” NFL on CBS analyst Dan Fouts said on The DA Show. “But more than the cold, it’s the wind that (affects quarterbacks). If it’s windy, it does change the flight of the ball. But when you got Patrick Mahomes and his arm strength, I think he’s got the ability to cut through the wind as long as he keeps it in a tight spiral. You saw last week he did not wear gloves. It’s a pretty good indication that he feels he can handle it.”
