After a week off – especially after a close loss to an NFC East rival – Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence can’t wait to take the field against Tennessee on Monday night.

“Just looking at us running around in practice, how fresh we feel and look, (we’re) eager to just get back in it and be able to hit somebody,” Lawrence said on Taz & The Moose. “It’s really all about us getting out there and attacking and not settling for mediocrity.”

The Cowboys (3-4) have alternated losses and wins this season. Their last two losses were both on the road by a field goal: 19-16 in overtime against the Texans in Week 5 and 20-17 against Washington in Week 7.

While Lawrence is focused on the Titans (3-4), he’s also excited to play the Eagles (4-4) in Philadelphia in Week 10. In fact, the Eagles are the NFC East team he most wants to beat.

“Philly, absolutely,” he said. “They went for the goal last year. I’m trying to reach that goal, so you got to beat the best in order to achieve greatness.”

The Cowboys will unveil new receiver Amari Cooper on Monday. The 24-year-old should improve a unit that ranks 28th in total offense and 26th in scoring offense (20.0 points per game).

“He means a lot,” Lawrence said. “Just a deep threat that can go downfield and make big plays can open up a lot for our offense. Just adding more speed to our core really opens it up. The main thing is put the ball in Zeke’s hands and be able to take control of the game and let the defense go out there and help you win this game."
