Tierney: Dak For Brady "One Of The Dumbest Things I've Ever Heard"

The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly been trying to sign Dak Prescott to a long-term contract for quite some time, but it hasn’t happened. Now there are reports that the Cowboys might move on from Dak Prescott and try to sign Tom Brady.

Brandon Tierney believes that is, in a word, absurd.

“Dak Prescott for Tom Brady . . . is really one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard,” Tierney said on Tiki & Tierney.

Tiki Barber, meanwhile, doesn’t know what to make of this.

“By all accounts, the Cowboys love Dak Prescott,” Barber said. “He falls into their lap basically as the starter – or at least as a franchise-ish-level starter after Tony Romo goes down. He plays four seasons as the starter, he’s really good – he seems like the dude. But they’ve been trying for a year to get a deal done. Now think about all the other quarterbacks: the Carson Wentzs of the world, even the Jared Goffs – the guys that aren’t nearly as good, or at least consistent, as Dak Prescott has been.”

Yet Prescott remains without a long-term deal.

“When teams want to sign their quarterback, they sign their quarterback,” Barber said. “It is what it is. Whatever that number is going to be, they pay it. They shell it out. If they have cap issues, they just extend it a little bit farther so it measures up well versus the cap. The fact that the Cowboys have not gotten this deal done starts to tell me maybe they don’t really love Dak Prescott like we assume they love Dak Prescott, and it starts to ring of Kirk Cousins in Washington. I heard that analogy the other day, that comparison, and the more I think about it, the more I can start so-signing it.”
