After losing their season-opener at Jacksonville 27-20, the Indianapolis Colts have reeled off three straight wins, beating the Vikings, Jets and Bears by a combined 83-29.

That’s right: The Colts allowed 27 points in their opener but have allowed just 29 points in their last three games combined. The defense, of course, has a lot to do with that.

But so does having Philip Rivers’ steady hand under center.

“I love the guy, man,” Colts defensive tackle Grover Stewart said on JR SportBrief. “The trash-talking, the experience, the way he moves the offense – I love everything he do, man. I think he’s a good guy that we picked up this offseason.”

Rivers, 38, spent the first 16 seasons of his career with the Chargers before signing with the Colts in March. He has completed 72.7 percent of his passes for 984 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions this season.

“He brings the juice,” Stewart said. “Jacoby [Brissett] brings the juice, and Philip brings the juice. Both quarterbacks, they have the juice, and they brought the juice to the offense.”

The Colts play the Browns (3-1) in Cleveland this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
