Hollywood Haymakers: Boxing Greats Discuss Creed II

"Outside the Cage" host Ike Feldman caught up with current and former boxing greats at the "Creed II" Premier in New York

“Outside the Cage” host Ike Feldman and JR Roberts from “JR Sport Brief” caught up with current and former boxing greats, among others, during the red carpet premiere of Creed II last week.

Creed II (or Rocky 7) is another chapter in the storied Rocky franchise that has captivated countless hearts and minds around the world since the original film debuted in 1976. Fast forward to 2018: Sylvester Stallone reprises his role as an older Rocky Balboa, who continues his fighter/trainer relationship with Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis (Michael B. Jordan).

The latest film pits Ivan Drago’s (Dolph Lundgren) son, Vicktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), against Adonis Creed. For those non-Rocky historians, this is the “revenge fight” for Adonis, as his father, Apollo, was killed in the ring by Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.

While the actors in Creed II get paid to look like they’re in a boxing match, real-life boxing greats such as Danny Jacobs, Terence Crawford, and Roy Jones Jr. were in attendance for the movie’s New York premiere.

“It’s such a long history with the Rocky movies and now Creed, and to be a part of it in any way is a beautiful thing,” Jones Jr. said.

Though Stallone didn’t walk the red carpet, “Outside the Cage” was able to catch up with the guys who know a thing or two about taking a punch.
