Jeff Pearlman dropped by CBS Sports Radio on Tuesday to discuss his new book, “Football for a Buck: The Crazy Rise and Crazier Demise of the USFL.”

“I don’t know how you guys felt about it, but I was 10 years old in 1983 and I just loved the USFL – loved the USFL," Pearlman said on Taz & The Moose. "I remember being a kid and seeing Herschel Walker on the cover (of Sports Illustrated) and it said, ‘HITTING PAY DIRT’ and it was him in a Generals uniform. I really remember this. It’s not B.S. And seeing all the helmets – it was the Tampa Bay Bandits. The logos were the best logos. When you’re a kid, certain things just jump out and grab you. I just wanted to go back in time and kind of relive that.”
