After five seasons with the Rams, Todd Gurley is heading back to Georgia. The former Bulldog will suit up for the Atlanta Falcons, this after signing a one-year, $6 million deal last Friday.

“Initially, I didn’t think it was going to happen . . . with the arthritic knee that Todd Gurley has, that he would be a good fit for the Atlanta Falcons,” former NFL defensive end and current 92.9 The Game host Hugh Douglas said on After Hours with Amy Lawrence. “But when we found out that he was about to be a part of the Atlanta Falcons’ squad, the city went bananas. The city is excited about it.”

Gurley joins Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Hayden Hurst and Laquon Treadwell in a stacked offense. All of those players were first-round picks.

“That’s bananas,” Douglas said. “The Falcons look pretty good.”

The Falcons, who have finished 7-9 each of the last two seasons, have the 16th pick in the draft.

“I still think that they need to go get a pass-rusher in the draft,” Douglas said. “It would be amazing, it would be lovely, if they could find out a way to move up to that second spot and get Chase Young and add him into the mix. But that’s wishful thinking down here in Atlanta.”

Douglas has been extremely impressed with Ohio State edge rushers Joey and Nick Bosa. If Young is on par with them, he will be a star in the NFL.

“You look at how those guys came into the NFL, they were pass-rush-ready,” Douglas said of the Bosa brothers. “They’re hand technicians. They’re great hand fighters. if they could add that guy into this team with that offensive firepower, you got to like the Falcons to make some noise this year.”
