In recent months, there has been speculation that the Raiders and Giants might trade up to select a quarterback in the NFL Draft.

Well, it’s time to add the Redskins to that list.

“They’ve got to address the position,” NFL Network analyst Adam Rank said on Ferrall on the Bench. “It’s time to make a big move.”

While trading into the top 10 – or top five – would be a big move, trading for Josh Rosen might be a better one, Rank says.

“If you’re looking at this crop of quarterbacks, isn’t Josh Rosen better than the guys who are coming out right now?” Rank asked. “If the Cardinals want to move Josh Rosen, instead of trading up for somebody who’s not going to be as good, why not take a run at Josh Rosen? To me, the play is to go after Rosen. If Dan Snyder wants to make some moves, that’s exactly what I would advise him to do.”

If the Redskins don’t trade for Rosen, they could try to move up from 15 to select Dwayne Haskins, who played high school ball in Maryland.

“Dwayne Haskins is a good quarterback,” Rank said. “He rates favorably with somebody like Sam Bradford when he was coming out of college. Sam Bradford, injuries aside, was actually a really good quarterback. I like (Haskins). I like him as a prospect. I think if the Redskins do have their sights set on him, they’re probably going to have to move up.”

And by “move up,” Rank means into the top 10.

“I think a low-key, sneaky landing spot for (Haskins) is (Cincinnati),” Rank said of the Bengals, who pick No. 11. “If the Redskins do want to make a splash, I could see them moving to No. 8 with the Detroit Lions – somebody who would probably want to move down a little bit. I think they have to jump ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals.”
